Diesel generator sets are used in places without connection to the power grid or as emergency power-supply if the grid fails. They are a vital part of telecom sites and also a major source of high operating expenditure. To overcome this challenge, ZND has designed a Dual Diesel Generator solution. This unique solution introduces two DG’s of different capacities at a single site.

Total loading at a site can vary from 50% to 95% depending upon parameters such as ambient temperature, BTS load and battery charging. DG efficiency is maximized when this load ranges from 75% to 85%. The lower capacity generator is used when capacity requirement is low while the higher capacity generator is used only when the load goes up. This helps meet average as well as peak load demand with optimum load on DG sets.
